Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the Vendor Central integration require participation in Brand Registry?

Several of the reports that Incremental uses to provide sales and inventory data are only available to brands who have enrolled in Brand Registry and have access to Brand Analytics. Without access to these reports, Incremental will not be able to surface valuable data on and insights into Vendor Central performance.

What is the difference between the Sourcing and Manufacturing distributor views?

All Amazon vendors have access to the Sourcing distributor view in their sales reporting, but only registered manufacturers have access to the Manufacturing view. The Manufacturing view shows data for ASINs manufactured by you, regardless of who sourced the products to Amazon. The Sourcing view shows only the data of ASINs sourced directly from a vendor code in your vendor group.

Furthermore, Manufacturing reports allow users to view sales by both ship and order date. Sourcing reports, on the other hand, only support metrics based on ship date. Incremental recommends that all Vendor Central integrations be configured to use a Manufacturing distributor view when possible.

Why do my discount/subscription sales exceed my total consumer sales on certain days?

This often occurs when your Vendor Central integration has its distributor view set to Sourcing, a setting which is decided when the integration is initially established. Amazon does not provide order date reporting for Sourcing views, so any integration with such a distributor view will see sales reporting based on ship date. However, Incremental's discount and subscription sales data is sourced from coop invoices and are reported based on order date. The result is that a discount or subscription order will be recorded as part of discount or subscription sales on the order date, but the same sale will not be factored into total consumer sales until the order is shipped, which will likely be days—or even weeks—later. This is especially likely to occur when there are high-volume, limited-time promotions (e.g. Prime Day sales).

Due to the impact this discrepancy may have on your reporting and measurement, Incremental recommends that all Vendor Central integrations be configured to use a Manufacturing distributor view when possible. Please see below for details on how to switch from a Sourcing distributor view to Manufacturing.

How do I change the distributor view on an existing Vendor Central integration?

If you wish to change the distributor view for an existing integration, please submit a ticket to our support team. Your request may take up to a week to be processed.

Please note that the distributor view is a global setting at the Parent Vendor Code level within the Incremental platform. If you have multiple Incremental brands that share a Parent Vendor Code, any changes to the distributor view will impact all of your brands' reporting.
